Driver guide

How Rundo works

Rundo is a driver-to-driver dispatch board for Australian CPV drivers. When you can't take a booking, you post it. When you want more work, you bid on someone else's. The app does the points maths, and every movement is written down. This page is the whole thing, start to finish.

01 · What Rundo is

Every group chat, one board

Across the city there are driver group chats, each with its own points maths. You have to remember the rules for every one of them, and getting it wrong can cost you the work. That isn't fair, and it doesn't scale.

Rundo puts the jobs in one place and calculates the points for you, with the same rules for every driver on the platform. You bid, you accept, you post — the maths is on us. It is not a passenger app: passengers never open Rundo. A driver who already has a booking they can't take hands it to another driver.

A dispatcher posts
A booking they can't drive goes onto the board with the route, the fare and the payment types.
matching drivers on shift are alerted in seconds
the bidder enters the final fare paid
The job closes
Points settle on the final fare. The dispatcher earns, the bidder pays.
The one line to remember
Bidding costs you nothing. Points only move when a job closes.
02 · Why dispatchers post

Cover every job from one place

Right now a booking you can't drive gets copied into group after group, each with its own rules, and you're left chasing who actually saw it. Post it once on Rundo and every matching driver on shift gets it in seconds.

Earn
You earn on every close
Points you bank as a dispatcher are exactly what let you take work back off the board later.
Control
You choose the winner
You see each bidder's vehicle, rego, balance and distance, and you confirm the final fare afterwards.
Clean
No double-ups
One board, one accepted driver. No two cars turning up, no arguing who claimed it first.
03 · Signing up

Verified before you can bid

Everyone on the board is a checked CPV driver. That's the whole basis of trusting a stranger with your passenger, so verification comes first — most drivers are approved within a day.

1Download Rundo Partner and verify your Australian mobile by SMS.
2You — your name as it appears on your CPV accreditation, email, operating state, and a referral code if you have one.
3Vehicle — type, make, model, year, colour and plate. Flag it if you offer luxury / silver service.
4Payment — tick every type you can actually take: cash, meter, subsidy scheme, Cabcharge, account. Jobs needing something you didn't tick stay hidden from your Feed.
5Documents — your CPV accreditation and a photo of your plate, plus your meter if you selected meter, subsidy or Cabcharge. Only Rundo admins see these.
6Review and submit. You'll get a push notification when you're approved, with starter points already in your wallet.
While you wait
The Feed stays locked until you're approved. If a photo is unclear you'll be asked for a replacement rather than declined — upload it and you go back in the queue.
04 · The app

Five tabs, that's the whole app

TabWhat it's for
FeedOpen jobs you can bid on, plus your own posted jobs sitting above the list.
LedgerYour balance, this week's activity, and every credit and debit with the job attached.
PostHand a booking to another driver. Taxi accounts only.
ActiveThe jobs you're in right now — as the bidder driving, or the dispatcher choosing.
ProfileYou, your documents, subscription, referrals, disputes, block list and support.
05 · On shift

On shift is the new "in the group"

One switch replaces joining and leaving group chats. Go on when you start working and the board comes alive; go off when you stop and the alerts stop with it — without losing your place.

On shift
You get the pings
New matching jobs alert you as they're posted, and you can bid and post.
Off shift
Quiet, but not gone
No new-job alerts and no bidding. Jobs you're already in, and safety alerts, still reach you.
Habit worth having
Turn it off when you finish. Leaving it on overnight means Ready-Now pings for jobs you can't take — and drivers who never respond get skipped over.
06 · The Job Feed

Read the board in one glance

The Feed shows live jobs that match your vehicle and the payments you can take. Route first, fare on the right, how long it's been up underneath. Sort by newest or highest fare, and filter by vehicle or payment type.

Most jobs are Ready Now — a passenger waiting — so that state carries no badge at all. Only the exceptions are marked:

On the cardWhat it means
no badgeReady now. Passenger is waiting, usually a ten-minute pickup.
BOOKED · 18:30A scheduled pickup, with the time shown.
NO POINT DEDUCTIONThe dispatcher has opened it up — take it and nothing is deducted on close.
RETURN ×2A return fare. Points count double on both sides.
LUXURYSilver-service surcharge is allowed on this job.
PARCELA parcel or item run, no passenger.
POSTEDOne of your own jobs. Tap through to Active to manage the bids.
If the board looks empty
Ready-Now jobs come and go in minutes. Check your filters, make sure you're on shift, and if you're a taxi driver — post something yourself.
07 · Taking work

Bid, drive, close

1Open the card and read the route, the fare, the tags, the dispatcher's note and points on close.
2Tap Place Bid. Nothing is deducted. You land in Active, waiting for the dispatcher to choose.
3If you win, the job locks to you and Chat opens WhatsApp with the job summary pre-filled. Maps take you to pickup, then drop-off.
4Work the buttons in order as you go: ArrivedPassenger onboardPassenger dropped.
5Enter the final fare paid — plus a photo of the meter or receipt if the dispatcher asked for one — and close the job. Points settle on the spot.
MomentWhat happens to your points
You place a bidNothing is taken.
Someone else wins itStill nothing. Cancel your bid to free yourself for the next job.
You close the jobPoints settle, calculated on the fare that was actually paid.
Watch for
One pending bid at a time, and you must be able to afford the expected cost before you can bid. The exact figure is shown on the card before you tap.
08 · Handing work over

Post a job in under a minute

Double-booked, wrong side of town, wrong vehicle, or a rank job you simply can't run — post it instead of ringing around. Posting is free, and you earn when the other driver closes it.

1When — Ready now for a waiting passenger, Quick for a few minutes out, or Book a later pickup.
2Where — pickup and drop-off suburb or place.
3Vehicle and payment — the vehicle the job needs, and every payment type the passenger can use.
4Fare — your minimum. The app suggests one from the route, distance and time of day.
5Note and extras — wheelchair, pets, luggage, door codes; then return fare, airport, parcel, luxury, or require a meter photo.
ExtraWhat it does
Return fareOne trip, both directions. Points count double on both sides.
Airport jobFlags it as an airport run, with a dispatcher bonus on larger fares.
Luxury (+ surcharge)Lets the winning driver charge the silver-service surcharge.
Require meter photoThe winner must photograph the meter or receipt at drop-off. Use it on account and subsidy work.
Watch for
Post while the passenger still wants the car — open jobs expire on their own if nobody is accepted. Posting is a taxi-account feature; rideshare partners can still bid on cash and account work.
09 · Choosing

You pick. Nothing auto-accepts.

Bids land in Active under your posted job. Each one shows the driver's name, vehicle and rego, their points balance, their distance and how long ago they bid.

The list is ordered as a fair pick — highest balance first, then whoever bid earliest, then who can take the most payment types — and the top one carries a ★ RECOMMENDED star. You can still accept anyone; the star is guidance, not a rule.

If nobody bids

After a short wait you can turn on NPD Override: drivers can then take the job with nothing deducted on close, and you still earn. The Feed marks it NO POINT DEDUCTION, which moves cold jobs fast. Use it when a job is dying, not as your default.

After you accept
The job locks to that driver. You'll see trip progress, their driver card, chat and phone, and the option to cancel and compensate them if the passenger falls through. When they close, you get Review final fare — confirm it, or dispute it with the photo attached.
10 · When plans change

Don't ghost — there's a button for it

Jobs fall apart. Passengers vanish, cars break, times move. Every one of those situations has a button, and using it protects both drivers' points and reputations.

SituationWhat to use
You posted it and nobody's accepted yetCancel job. No points move. Pick a reason so the other side knows why.
You posted it and a driver is locked inCancel & compensate. The bidder is credited a small amount for the wasted trip. Repeat post-lock cancels go to admin review.
You arrived and there's no passengerNo Job. It notifies the dispatcher, who decides whether to cancel. You're free to bid on other work while you wait.
You can't make a job you wonNeed cover. Posts a Ready-Now replacement, refunds part of your bid, and puts you off air briefly so the next job doesn't get grabbed the same way.
The fare or the photo looks wrongDispute. Goes to admin with the job, the fare and the photo. Outcomes usually land within a day; open threads live in Profile → Disputes.
A passenger ran without payingReport a runner. A community safety report, pinned on the runner map so nearby drivers see it. This is separate from a fare dispute.
11 · Points

One fare, one rule, no memorising

Points are how you bid. The final fare — what the passenger actually paid — decides the band, not the minimum that was posted. The bidder pays, the dispatcher earns, and very cheap jobs can even hand the bidder a point back.

Vehicle type, return fares, airport and time bookings, luxury and NPD all adjust the result, and there are caps at both ends plus a maximum balance. Rather than print a table that can change, the app carries the live one with a calculator you can drag: Profile → How points work.

Why we don't publish the numbers here
Fare bands, caps, free closes and bonuses can be adjusted by operations without a new app release. The screen inside the app is always the live version — trust it over any page, post or group chat.
12 · Monday reset

Finish higher, start higher

Every Monday morning, Melbourne time, balances reset and a new week of free closes begins. Where you finished last week decides your head-start — that's your loyalty tier — and you get a push notification telling you where you've landed.

It's the same national week for every driver, and it runs on Melbourne time rather than your phone's midnight, so nobody gets an extra few hours by changing time zone. The reset row in your Ledger opens the tier detail.

What this rewards
Drivers who work the board all week — posting and closing — start the next week with more to bid with. Sitting on a balance doesn't carry it over; finishing strong does.
13 · Free closes & Rundo Standard

Free to work, paid to work harder

Every loyalty week includes a set number of free successful closes — enough for most drivers to work normally without paying anything. The pill at the top of the Feed shows how many you've used.

Once they're gone, your next bid hits the paywall and you can either wait for Monday or take Rundo Standard, a monthly subscription that removes the weekly close cap and adds priority notifications. Points still reset on Monday either way. Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play — never by card inside the app — and you cancel there too. Posting on the Classifieds board is also a Standard feature; browsing is open to everyone.

Current pricing
The live price, and any launch or founder rate, is shown on the subscription screen in the app and on the store listing.
14 · Records

Every movement has a line

The Ledger is the end of scrolling a chat to work out who owes what. Your balance, your starting balance for the week, jobs won and posted, and every credit and debit — filterable, with a week picker to look back.

Tap any row and you get the job, the fare, the rules that were applied and the fare photo. Nothing is deducted without a line explaining it.

WhatsApp is for coordination only

Rundo has no in-app chat, on purpose. Phone numbers stay private until a job is locked; then Chat opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled job summary.

Use it for
  • "I'm in the silver Camry, two minutes."
  • Gate codes, door numbers, which terminal.
  • Infant seats, luggage, mobility needs.
Not for
  • Bidding — that's Place Bid.
  • Arguing points — that's the Ledger.
  • Passing the job on privately — that's Need cover.
15 · Referrals

A board is only as good as the drivers on it

Bring a driver you'd happily hand a job to, and you both get a points bonus once they're actually working. There's no cap on how many drivers you bring.

1Your code appears in Profile → Refer a driver once you're verified. Share it by WhatsApp, SMS or email.
2They sign up with the code and get approved as a CPV driver.
3They win and close their first paid job.
4Both wallets are credited, and the line shows up in both ledgers.
Watch for
Signing up isn't enough — the bonus lands after a paid close. Farming it with accounts that never drive is treated as fraud, not enthusiasm.
16 · Ground rules

Fair play, and what removes your access

Rundo is a professional dispatch system, not a group chat. Every job, fare and point is logged against your account — which is what makes it trustworthy, and also what makes anything dodgy easy to see.

Do
  • Only tick payments and vehicle types you really have.
  • Go off shift when you stop working.
  • Enter the real final fare — the photo is the proof.
  • Use No Job, Need cover or Cancel instead of going quiet.
  • Report runners in the app so other drivers see it.
Don't
  • Sit on a job you can't reach, or hold two bids at once.
  • Run a side WhatsApp bid on a Rundo job.
  • Use NPD to dodge points on a job that's selling fine.
  • Pass a locked job to a mate off the board.

What gets your access removed

Fake jobs
Posting work that doesn't exist, or inventing a job to move points around.
Work you can't vouch for
Posting for a mate you work with is fine — just make sure the job is real, the details are right and the passenger is actually expecting a car.
Not completing a job you won
Winning the lock and then dropping it, going quiet, or leaving the passenger standing.
Wrong fares
Closing with a fare that doesn't match the meter, or a photo that doesn't match the job.
Stacking the pick
You choose the winner, but the star is the fair pick. Repeatedly passing it over to funnel jobs to the same mate, or locking a driver who can't take the vehicle or payment, is reviewed.
Gaming the system
Point swapping between mates, fake referral accounts, or using NPD to dodge points on a healthy job.
Working around the board
Taking a Rundo job private, running a side bid in a chat, or handing it on without Need cover.
Abuse or unsafe conduct
Threats or abuse towards a driver or passenger, sharing your account, or false runner reports.
01
Warning
Admin flags it and you hear about it.
02
Suspended
Board access off while it's reviewed. Open disputes can still be discussed with support.
03
Removed
Account closed for good under the Driver Code of Conduct.
The deal
Honest drivers get the good jobs. If you post real work, drive what you win, and enter the real fare, none of this ever touches you.
FAQ

Quick answers

Why didn't I get a job alert?
You were off shift, the job didn't match your vehicle or payment types, it was your own post, or your state isn't live yet.
I placed a bid — where did my points go?
Nowhere. Points move when a job closes, and only for the driver who won it. Losing a bid costs nothing.
The final fare was different from the posted minimum.
That's normal — the minimum is a floor, and points are calculated on what was actually paid. If the photo doesn't match the amount, dispute it.
Why do I have fewer points than last night?
Monday morning reset, Melbourne time. Check the system row in your Ledger and the tier detail it opens.
Is there a passenger app?
No. Rundo is drivers passing work to drivers; passengers never see it.
Can I change my phone number or operating state?
Not in the app — email support@rundo.com.au and we'll do it.
Can I run two vehicles on one account?
One vehicle per account. If you move from rideshare to taxi there's an upgrade flow in Personal info that needs your taxi ID, plate and meter photo.
Who do I contact if something's wrong?
Profile → Support, or support@rundo.com.au. For a fare fight already lodged, Profile → Disputes.
